How’s This for a Grand Design?

Not far from home, there is an old 1900s house for sale. It’s one of those places you might drive past on a Sunday afternoon and go “hmm, that has potential”.

Grand Design?

Well, I’ve just been doing some research. Here’s what Paul Fox, the estate agents, say on their website…

Large 5 Bedroomed traditional early 1900’s detached family house. 5 Receptions, Good sized grounds. Scope for improvements and repair.

Dunno about anyone else, but I’d be a little dubious about the “scope for improvements and repair” part. The place literally wants gutting. There’s stuff growing out the walls for god sake!

That said, the place does have potential. It’s basically a large 5 bedroom family house in a descent sized plot, views over the river, outbuilding etc. And the price? A staggeringly low £140-160k. Bargain!!

Of course, you’d need 300k to make it habitable…
