Finally… a point to RSS!
I’ve just signed up for a new hosting account with DreamHost (www.DreamHost.com). They’ve been recommended by a couple of people, and I’ve been wanting to move my PHP stuff to a new host for a while.
As you may be aware, I’m a .NET programmer - but I use a PHP/MySQL/Wordpress solution for my blogs. M6 have given me some massive headaches lately with MySql server problems, so they needed moving - asap.
I’ve started with www.AdventuresInVista.com, and will move the blogs over gradually. Actually, I’ve got a problem atm - their “one-click” Wordpress installation thingy doesn’t seem to have worked. I’m sure it’ll be sorted soon.
No, the great thing I’ve discovered with DreamHost… an RSS feed of maintenance/issues etc related directly to the servers I’m using. So, when there’s a problem - they’ll post to the RSS, and I know what’s going on.
Quite a neat idea - we’ll see if it works in practise.
In other news… I had a great couple of days with Heather last week - I don’t think I’ve laughed so much since Anne-Marie told the story of ‘the tunafish incident’. Anyway, more on what happened with Heather in post soon.
