About

goDHN.com is the personal blog of me, Dan Nash, 26 year old disabled entrepreneur and total geek.

This is my home on the web. Yes, I have many web-based projects, many with blogs, but this is where I will talk about my life, my friends, family.. and of course discuss many of the projects.

For those interested, the disability is transposition of the great arteries with a ventral ceptal defect. It’s congenital (I was born with it), so I’ve never known “normality”. They did try to fix me, but nothing worked. That said, I try to live as normal life as possible, and hate to be classed as disabled (it’s just not something you think about, yknow?). Of course, it does have its perks - easy parking, a free car, and free prescriptions!

I’ve been into computers since we got our first Amstrad PC - a 1640 with MS-DOS.. 4, I think. I’ve progressed since then… through all versions of DOS, Windows 3.1, 95, 98, 2000, 2003, XP and Vista, Mac OS 9, 10, and I’m just starting my first foray into Linux! Eeep.

Many many years ago I started to learn programming. I started with QBasic, and quickly moved through Pascal, Visual Basic, C/C++, Cobol (at college - cheers Dave, how useful was that? not at all!), HTML, CSS, Javascript, ASP, SQL and C# / ASP.net. And no, I can’t switch between them all without thinking!

In 2001 I started Musoswire, an online store for independent musicians to sell their CDs online. If you’ve made a CD - go sign up now! I also run a couple of technology blogs… AdventuresInVista and AdventuresInMacOS, and do web design / computer fixing for clients (you can see a list of client sites on the sidebar to the right). I also have a 1 day a week job working for darts, desiging/maintaining their Intranet and website.

Pretty busy then! I do occassionally get out to see friends, movies, gigs, etc - although not as much as I’d like. I guess that’s my own fault for working too much :o)
